Rumi Viro is a spin-off from the lab of Ali Brivanlou at Rockefeller University, in collaboration with Dr. Charles Rice and Dr. Eric Siggia, benefiting from more than a decade of cutting-edge basic research at the interface between human stem cell biology, virology and physics. We are a research-driven company focused on the discovery of drugs and innovative treatments for infectious diseases. We have created an exciting human organoid-based platform that can be used for agnostic drug discovery and uniquely can be translated at the level of high-throughput screening. We have therefore unlocked the full potential of human organoids technology for the discovery of tomorrow’s therapeutics

Our pipeline harnesses the power of embryonic stem cells to model human development in vitro and combine highly quantitative virology analysis with multi-cellular tissue self-organization to create defined pathological embryonic tissues that serve as a basis for drug screening analyzed through modern AI tools. While we are pursuing an ongoing drug development effort on respiratory viruses, we are also expanding the company focus towards other viral infectious diseases. We believe that focusing on human embryology in both normal and disease contexts will open new doors towards treatments for many infectious diseases that still have no cures.

We are seeking highly-motivated team members at the level of Research Assistants to join our growing team. The successful candidates will contribute to the drug discovery effort as well as the development of novel therapeutics across several areas based on a strong interdisciplinary background, as our interests range from genome editing, physical methods for tissue confinement, to machine learning approach for the analysis of high content phenotypic screens. The ideal candidates are self-motivated with a dynamic personality. You will be working closely with the company CSO and VP to expand our portfolio of diseases and develop new screening platforms for drug discovery and run our proprietary assays.

The ideal candidates have extensive experience in the biological sciences, which mostly includes tissue culture, molecular biology and microscopy. The applicant is able to quickly adapt to the challenge of working with cutting-edge biotechnology, to rapidly master independence. The company is based at the New York Blood center which offers exceptional resources as well as within a thriving community of leading research institutions.
